- Free Chapters of the Book Available on August 8th, New Book will be Released on August 14th -
New York, NY - August 8th, 2017 - The innovative hybrid publisher, Riverdale Avenue Books is releasing Everything You Always Wanted to Know About Watergate *But Were Afraid to Ask by Brian J. O’Connor and Lori Perkins on August 14th. Select chapters will be available for free to read on RiverdaleAveBooks.com on August 8th, the 43rd anniversary of Richard Nixon’s resigning from office.
Everything You Always Wanted to Know About Watergate *But Were Afraid to Ask goes against the grain. In today’s newsfeed, the Watergate story is usually told from the perspective of straight, white male journalists and politicians who were at the center of the scandal—but Watergate happened to all of us – wives, mothers, children, black, white, queer, immigrants. Those voices and perceptions are rarely heard, until now. The book includes several exclusive interviews including Rep. Charles Rangel, the African American junior Representative on the House Judiciary Committee.
Everything You Always Wanted to Know About Watergate *But Were Afraid to Ask looks at the wider ripples of the Watergate explosion and how it changed the way Americans saw themselves, their country and the world around them using a humor reminiscent of the Daily Show including witty, yet informative chapters such as How Watergate is Taught Today; Game of Quotes - Nixon or Trump; and Food for Thought, which offers actual recipes from Pat Nixon and the oddly-named pistachio-flavored Watergate salad.
“Events in Washington make the issues raised in Watergate so current, that we felt it was important to quickly put together a book to show how deeply Watergate has influenced the culture, from phrases such as ‘the smoking gun’ that are part of the political lexicon to the books and movies inspired by this major turning point in American history.” said Author Brian O’Connor. “ We also found some interesting parallels between Trump and Nixon, and some disturbing trivia that includes meatloaf as an indicator of presidential fitness.”
Author and Publisher Lori Perkins added, “This is the one book to read if you never know what to say when people start talking about politics. It’s chock full of Watergate facts, both serious and frivolous, that will make you seem like a real Watergate aficionado and shut anyone else up.”
Everything You Always Wanted to Know About Watergate *but Were Afraid to Ask is both a serious, and irreverent book, put together by a team of two newspaper journalists and ten college interns from throughout the country.

Riverdale Avenue Books just published Andrew Gray’s novella, The Photographer’s Assistant as he prepares to accept the coveted Romance Writers of America
Centennial Award, for having published 100 romance novels. Andrew Grey is the
only male author to receive the Romance Writers of America Centennial Award and
the only M/M author
In The Photographer’s Assistant, Christian
Coulliet is the premier gay erotic photographer in the country. His pictures are spectacular because he will
go to whatever length is necessary to get the photographs he wants, including
having sex with his models. His assistant,
David Weatherby is attracted to Christian in a big way, but has seen Christian
brush off so many men, and he doesn’t want to be another notch on Christian’s
photographic bedpost. What David doesn’t
realize is that Christian has noticed
and watches, but stays away because David works for him, and because he feels
that David deserves someone better.
“I had a ball writing this story. It’s a secret fantasy of mine to have been able to be a model and I definitely would have taken a handsome photographer for a spin if I had gotten the chance, ” said Author Andrew Grey.

TRANS/gressive by Riki Wilchins Just Pubbed
Before Caitlyn Jenner became America’s most
famous transgender personality, Riki Wilchins was leading the fight for
transgender rights. Riverdale Avenue
Books, a leading LGBT publisher, is releasing a new
book by Riki Wilchins documenting the history of transgender activism titled TRANS/gressive: How Transgender Activists
Took on Gay Rights, Feminism, the Media & Congress...and Won! on June 1st
to kick off Pride Month.
“As America focuses more on trans rights, and becomes more aware of the impact of these gender issues, this comprehensive, in-your-face, first-person account of the trans rights movement is an important document, both for its historic record and personal story.” said Lori Perkins, Publisher. “There is nothing else like it, and Riki Wilchins is the only one who could tell this tale so comprehensibly and compassionately.”
“This was a story that I thought might get lost forever. When we did the things in this book – protesting, forming groups, demonstrating — they were obscure current events — even the gay press ignored us. Two decades later they've become history, but one in danger of being lost for good,” explained author Riki Wilchins. “Folks today see Caitlyn and Janet and Laverne and they think it's always been this way. It hasn't. There's a backstory to all of that. There’s a place it all started. This book is that story. This is how a handful of genderqueers started a gender revolution

M/M Dancing Dirty by Ryan Field
The innovative hybrid publisher, Riverdale Avenue Books is releasing Dancing Dirty by best-selling Lambda Award winning author Ryan Fields, a retelling of the classic film Dirty Dancing using gay characters, just prior to the ABC live airing on May 24th.
Dancing Dirty takes place in the summer of 1978, the middle of the disco era, and dancing is one of the hottest trends. But 18-year-old Junior has never seen the inside of a gay bar or danced with another man. His mother and father think he's just shy about meeting girls and that he'll grow out of it. All Junior cares about is meeting the right man and falling in love.
But when his parents buy a summer home in an exclusive resort community in the mountains of northeastern Pennsylvania, his prospects of finding love don't look too promising. While his mother and father enjoy all the amenities of the resort, and his sister is flirting with one of the waiters, Junior mopes around watching everyone else have fun. That is until he meets a handsome young dance instructor named Carlo who changes his life in ways he'd never dreamed were possible.
From the minute Junior lays eyes on Carlo, he knows he's in love. In order to prove his love, he's willing to make personal sacrifices that no one else has ever been willing to make for Carlo.
“Dirty Dancing is a timeless classic whose themes of doing the right things no matter who you love transcend gender, ”said Publisher Lori Perkins.
“I was excited to retell this tale with a gay twist,” said Author Ryan Field. “I hope the readers enjoy it as much as I did when I wrote it.”

Gone with the Dead Comes to RT Convention
Riverdale
Avenue Books has joined forces with the Romantic
Times convention, held in Atlanta this weekend, to give all participants of the
upcoming conference a free ebook entitled Gone
with the Dead edited by Lori Perkins. The new anthology includes stories
based on both Atlanta, Georgia classics Gone
with the Wind and The Walking Dead.
The Gone
with the Dead anthology includes 16 stories from multiple New York Times
and USA Today best-selling writers. Each one is a unique interpretation of this
concept of Southern love and death.
There is profound love and extreme gore--some even in the same story,
and all sorts of undead from the expected zombies to vampires and
shapeshifters, ghosts, devils, and even bugs and gators.
“So it was no surprise that we received more than
100 short stories in a mere two-month deadline when we put the call out for
contributions. Some stories were sent in
the very first day this anthology was announced,” said Publisher and Editor
Lori Perkins. “Of course, that meant that the range of stories was wide, as
well. I expected a lot of zombie stories
– and you will see your fair share of them in here – but there are many kinds
of zombies. Because of the Gone with the Wind angle, I was really looking for stories that had a Civil
War flavor, and you’ll find some truly clever ways these writers have woven
that in as well.”
A reading with authors will be held on May 4th at
The Downtown Atlanta Hyatt from 5:45 to 6:45 The readers will include: Xio
Axelrod, R.L. Merrill, Isabelle Drake and Kimberlie Faye. Riverdale Avenue
Books will also hold their signature dirty word raffle for awesome prizes,
which will include Aftermath Makeup kits from Dear Bloody Mary, Crated With Love Boxes date night subscription box for couples and Infectious Love personalized zombie romance novel from YourNovel.com
Downloads of this book are available at RiverdaleAveBooks.com and also at Amazon, Barnes & Nobles Nook, iTunes, Kobo and where digital and print books are sold.
