Just Pubbed - Not Home for the Holidays - A Reverse Hallmark Christmas Movie Plot

Riverdale Avenue Books has just published Not Home for the Holidays by Isabelle Drake, a reverse-Hallmark Christmas movie where the country girl finds her city happy ever after.

The week before Christmas, quirky, country girl Emma Lopez is in New York City, aiming to win a social media contest for small-business owners. Minutes before her high-stakes interview, an impulsive, sizzling kiss under the mistletoe with a handsome businessman turns into an even bigger surprise

She goes all-in enjoying the holiday excitement of the city and shaking up a certain dapper businessman. Thanks to a snowstorm, her phone, and a couple more kisses, she counts herself a winner. Then, her high-spirited attitude leads to an unexpected opportunity of a lifetime, one she’s certain she can’t accept.

“Small towns aren't always the places for people with big dreams, that's something I learned by living in one. I wanted to write a fun, heart-warming Christmas romance for people like me, people who don't 'fit in' to that stereotypical country town,” explained author Isabelle Drake.

“I love binging on the Hallmark Christmas movies, but after a while I always wonder if it’s possible to find love in the big city.  Not Home for the Holidays does just that in the same feel-good way,” said Publisher Lori Perkins.

About the Morris-Jumel Mansion
Built in 1765, the Morris-Jumel Mansion, a historic house museum, is Manhattan’s oldest residence. George Washington was there for five weeks during Revolutionary War and hosted a dinner for his cabinet in 1890. In 1810 it became home to Eliza Jumel, one of America’s wealthiest women. Aaron Burr, her second husband, lived in the room where, more recently, Lin-Manuel Miranda wrote portions of his musical Hamilton. Through historic site tours, educational, culture and arts programming, the museum interprets the mansion from Colonial times through the Victorian era. Our modern experience of the holiday season has its roots in Victorian holiday traditions brought into fashion by Queen Victoria that were adopted by Americans like Eliza Jumel.

First Book on Rock Band Greta Van Fleet Just Published

Riverdale Avenue Books has published the first mainstream book on the breakout rock band Greta Van Fleet.
Hard work is its own reward and nobody knows that better than the heavy rock band Greta Van Fleet who in a matter of years have raced from obscurity as teens growing up in the tiny Michigan town of Frankenmuth to the top of the international hard rock mountain. Hard Work: The Greta Van Fleet Story by New York Times Bestselling Author Marc Shapiro takes you along for this high wire ride to the top.
Equal parts biography and inspirational story, Hard Work: The Greta Van Fleet Story takes the band on an often surreal and edge-of-your seat journey. At a time when popular music had become predictable, pre-fab and the process of making it had been diluted by the likes of American Idol and America’s Got Talent, Greta Van Fleet brought their brand of guitar heavy, very Led Zeppelin-like heavy metal to the public in the trenches. These underage musicians made their bones playing very adult biker parties, dive bars where they often were not allowed inside except to play and spending countless hours driving in cramped vans to the middle of nowhere to play for an audience of 10.
But persistence would ultimately pay off. They signed with Lava Records and put out a series of albums that captured the fantasy with music that paid homage to hard rock’s past and pointed the way to a joyous rocking future.
This book includes:

·      Exclusive interviews with local club owners from Greta Van Fleet's early days;
·      Complete Greta Van Fleet discography, including outtakes from recording sessions, live garage recordings, concert recordings and recordings of unreleased original songs
·      The real story behind Greta Van Fleet's controversial Saturday Night Live appearance.
·      Greta Van Fleet's literary and musical influences--beyond Led Zeppelin!
·      And the real story of life on the road!

“This book is biography, but it is also a blueprint to anybody that wants to make real, believable music,” said author Marc Shapiro. “Greta Van Fleet slugged it out in the rock and roll trenches and their reward is that they are currently one of the biggest bands on the planet. If you follow their lead, you can get there too.”
“We think Great Van Fleet be a major force in music for years to come and are thrilled to publish the first rock biography in this incredible band.” said Publisher Lori Perkins.

Final Installment of the M/M SoulShares Paranormal Fantasy Just Pubbed

Riverdale Avenue Books has published the final installment in the M/M Celtic SoulShares series, by Rory NiCoileain. The final book weaves together the myriad threads of this compelling paranormal romance in a climax that crosses time and space.

The Marfach—devourer of magick, long-imprisoned mortal enemy of the Fae race—is free of its Antarctic prison. The Demesne of Purgatory—Fae, humans, a Fade-hound puppy, a Gille Dubh, and a darag—is all that stands between the monster and the power it needs to destroy both the Fae Realm and the human world.  The only clue they have as to how to kill the unkillable is a cryptic note from the Loremasters

As they rebuild Purgatory from the rubble the Marfach left behind, they have to stand together, using everything they know—everything they are to their partners, lovers, husbands. Everything SoulSharing has made them. And not everyone who enters the final battle will leave it.

“When I first started writing the SoulShares, it was the most incredible feeling. Stories came pouring out of me. There were times it felt almost like the stories were alive, like they were writing themselves,” said Author Rory NiCoileain. “Then, as I kept going, something even more incredible happened. I realized that I wasn't just a scribe, I was part of the story, creating it from the inside.”

“The author laughed when I described this series to a friend as gay True Blood only with faeries, but this series is as twisted and compelling as that world,” said Publisher Lori Perkins.

Author & Musician Jeremy Wagner Releases New Edition of Acclaimed Novel, “The Armageddon Chord”, Today via Riverdale Avenue Books/Afraid Books

"Wagner debuts with a highly entertaining blend…of heavy metal and hardcore horror…electrified by breakneck pacing, a cast of over-the-top characters and memorable lines..."
Publishers Weekly

Jeremy Wagner, founder of internationally acclaimed death metal band Broken Hope, wrote his first novel about the power of heavy metal and its horrific possibilities in the wrong hands. Almost a decade later, The Armageddon Chord is being republished through Riverdale Avenue Books’ Afraid imprint with a new cover and interior illustrations by artist Claudio Bergamin (Rabid Heart, Judas Priest) and a new introduction that puts the genesis of the book in perspective. In addition to ebook and trade paperback editions out today, the book will be available in hardcover (May 9 release) and audio (summer release) for the first time soon.

Pick up your copy of the new edition in Paperback via Amazon and in eBook format via Amazon and Barnes & Noble

The horror novel follows the discovery of an ancient Egyptian hieroglyph that contains music so evil that it has the power to unleash the Apocalypse upon the world and grant immortality to the chosen who will reign with Satan.

Festus Baustone III, a multi-billionaire with a drive to crush anyone who defies him and a desire to live forever, will do anything to bring the Song of Sethis to life—even if it means sacrificing his own daughter and anyone else who stands in his way.

Kirk Vaisto, known as the “God of Guitar” by his millions of worldwide fans, is given an offer he can’t refuse. Caught between the forces of divine good and monumental evil, Kirk will find that there’s a powerful evil lurking in his very guitar strings as he transcribes the Song of Sethis for Festus Baustone and Helmut Hartkopff.

Turning Aknaseth’s hieroglyphics into music will be the first step into the abyss...

Kirk Vaisto sets off on a musical journey that takes him from an unholy chapter in ancient Egyptian history to the Holy Cross, to the concert stage and to the very edge of Hell itself as he gives the performance of a lifetime. Will it be immortality, annihilation and the Apocalypse, or salvation and deliverance from evil? All is at stake by Kirk Vaisto’s hand when he strikes The Armageddon Chord.

“I’m beyond delighted to see The Armageddon Chord get a proper re-release,” said author Jeremy Wagner. “Joining forces with Riverdale Avenue Books/Afraid is the best thing that could’ve happened for this novel. I can’t wait for new readers to get this in their hands for the first time, and for my longtime readers to experience all again in it’s bigger, badder, and apocalyptic glory!”

In 2011, Wagner released The Armageddon Chord to critical acclaim. Rolling Stone called the novel, “Pulp fiction at its breeziest best.”
